Perler Bead Mosaic Paintings

Even a few decades back, people used to consider only paintings and sculptures as pieces of art but as time passed by, people started creating different ideas artistically and made things with stones, sand, metals etc. showing their hidden talent and presenting an example in front of the people by their new way of creating art. Here is one such artist Joel W who has won my heart and I am sure even you will be fascinated with his creativity.

This sign maker is one full-time gig who doesnt work only for money but for his passion too for creating mosaic with perler beads and he is one real perfectionist. Just see his work art, and I bet you won’t disagree with me. Here is one of his many killer masterpieces which have been specially made for Halloween. Just see the concept behind this mosaic, with so many ghosts in the back ground and the pumpkin glowing in the base, the main antagonist of this portrait is the person who is standing in style, with a round pumpkin type head.

Not only this one but there many more creations like my favorite antagonist ever, THE JOKER from dark knight. This killer one has really won my heart as I think that nothing would be able to express his true character except for heath ledger but in this mosaic, he has done a tremendous job.

Here is another one which resembles some one’s eyes and I assume this is the eyes of the artist himself, was his first bead mosaic which he had made using a photographic reference. Hats of to you Joel W and your creation, please keep doing these excellent art.

You can also look to Transformer acrylic art or even you can see Cute little Pacman crew as an example of little different art. But for other amazing beaded art, you should definitely check out the Mike Tyson’s Punchout Characters version.

Moustache Masterpieces: 10 Sculpted and Bizarre Facial Hair Styles

To shave or not to shave? With these people there’s no question; the real decision is how to style years worth of facial hair growth into an exotic design that will turn heads and inspire friends to throw away their razors and give a beard or mustache a shot. Some people derive their identity from their facial hair, while others use it as a fashion statement, or groom it for competition. Regardless of the reasoning, unique facial hair designs are rare and interesting. Here are 10 of the most jaw dropping moustache and beard designs.

The large surface area of a person’s beard allows for intricate and voluminous designs not possible with moustache hair alone. Maintaining a shape requires braiding or heavy duty wax and sprays, but the increasing popularity of the World Beard and Moustache Championships helps motivate hesitant facial hair growers, and helps spur creative new designs.

While facial hair is not socially acceptable on females in Western Society, it’s always been acceptable in the circus. The bearded lady has been a freakshow staple for just as long as the strong man and the sword swallower. Some women push the boundaries of social norms to help broaden societal acceptance of women (and men) who don’t conform to gender stereotypes. Despite changes in public opinion, women with facial hair are still a surprising sight to most.

Moustache sculpting is often difficult because there’s less hair to work with, but mustache wearers are more than willing to tackle adversity and come up with stunning designs. The old fashioned wax moustache has evolved into something much more interesting and varied, as people push the limits of mustache sculpting.

Facial hair envy is a common condition, and people are endlessly creative in hiding their lack of hirsuteness. Fake mustaches aren’t just for Halloween anymore! Slap on some felt or clumps of animal hair, and you can be as cool as the most manly man (or woman). Watch as people stop and stare in wonderment and awe (and envy of their own)!

The smooth faced look has become so common, that unique facial hair can become a huge part of one’s identity. There are a slew of famous faces that would be nigh unrecognizable without their iconic styles. From the famous to the infamous, a large bushy beard, or a slim and lengthy moustache can make you memorable long after your time in the limelight.

Stingray Coffee Table by Stephan Veit

Stephan Veit has designed the Stingray coffee table for the German manufacturer, Draenert.

From the manufacturer:

Stingray is a coffee table with sculpture character. The appearance reminding of a ray impresses with flowing, organic curves. Lovely views and shadow plays appear depending on the angle of view. The base in the shape of waves reflects the harmonic swinging pectoral fins and gives the table a special dynamic and lightness. The round table top from glass floats over Stingray like a clear water surface.

Draenert will exhibit the table at the IMM Cologne show in January 2010.

Piercing Images: 10 Shockingly Extreme Body Modifications

Body modification is a broad category that covers anything from socially acceptable ear piercings to culturally mandated circumcisions, but there’s a small niche in this category that involves the most extreme manipulation of the human body. Some trendsetters treat their bodies like a work of art and some cultures are simply handing down tradition, but all of the following examples are shocking in their own way, so brace yourself. Here are 10 shockingly extreme body modifications that aren’t for the faint of heart (or stomach).

Society has become used to seeing angsty teens with bad tattoos, but as society’s boundaries broaden, those who push against the limits continue to pave the way for the rest of us. Technological innovations now allow for the insertion of silicone based implants that won’t affect the body’s normal processes, but stand out in a way that would be hard to match with any tattoo. From horns to clovers, just about any shape can be slipped under the skin.

Tongue splitting is incredibly painful and the resulting wound is in turns hideous and prone to infection. Once the tongue has healed, however, you’re left with something surreal: a tongue that works as two. Some find it hideous and disgusting, but nobody can deny it’s interesting to see such a mundane part of the human body transformed into something spectacular.

When one thinks of piercing, the first object that comes to mind is not typically a stainless steel hook, but to some, it is. Suspension requires that several heavy duty hooks attached to wires are pierced through the skin. The biggest danger here is that not enough hooks will be used… resulting in a tear. Suspension looks grisly, but is apparently much less painful than you’d expect. It’s a staple for any dark underground show.

Corset piercings are a unique twist on a typically benign adornment. A series of piercings are placed in two parallel rows down the back, side, or legs (or anywhere else you can think of), and a ribbon is woven back and forth to create a beautiful design. One can change the ribbon to suit the occasion, turning one’s body into an unusual and creative accessory.

Scarification is still frequently used in Africa for decoration and to mark the passage into adulthood. Children have tribal designs cut into their faces, chests, and backs, in order to show they are man enough to withstand the pain without uttering a single noise. These marks help tribes identify friend or foe, and are considered aesthetically pleasing. The technique is slowly making its way across the globe, though scarification in the United States and Europe typically takes on a different aesthetic that involves more flat red scars, and less raised bumps.

Kavadi is a structure held into place on a devotee’s body to venerate the Tamil god of war. There are several ways for believers to show their devoutness, from the mundane (carrying jugs of milk) to the more exotic (fire walking). Some choose a more extreme path and prepare for 48 days before their rites. These believers have over 100 metal spikes placed through their skin in a formation that allows the Kavadi structure to remain in place on their body.
